Speck in the universe

We are but mere specks in the universe, our lifespan a mere second on the whole time lapse of history that keeps unfolding. So let’s make the most of our millisecond here on earth as nurturing species. Share the love and compassion. Create a ripple so that mankind will be remembered. ~ Jojie Alcantara (Sunrise seascape, Davao City)

Live your life

“There is only one important point you must keep in your mind and let it be your guide. No matter what people call you, you are just who you are. Keep to this truth. You must ask yourself how is it you want to live your life. We live and we die, this is the truth that we can only face alone. No one can help us, not even the Buddha. So consider carefully, what prevents you from living the way you want to live your life?” ― Dalai Lama XIV

Thank you from the Filipino people

Survival after the storm “Faith is not simply a patience that passively suffers until the storm is past. Rather, it is a spirit that bears things – with resignations, yes, but above all, with blazing, serene hope.” ~ Corazon Aquino We, the Filipino people, embrace the gift of hope and overwhelming support from all over the world. Your openhearted assistance and extended hands mean so much to a struggling nation eager to rise up again from the odds. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. May God bless us all.

The joy of living

“If the sight of the blue skies fills you with joy, if a blade of grass springing up in the fields has power to move you, if the simple things of nature have a message that you understand, rejoice, for your soul is alive.” ~Eleonora Duse Wishing everybody a Christmas filled with unwavering hope, limitless love and bountiful blessings in life.

Who completes you?

“When we’re incomplete, we’re always searching for somebody to complete us. When, after a few years or a few months of a relationship, we find that we’re still unfulfilled, we blame our partners and take up with somebody more promising. This can go on and on–series polygamy–until we admit that while a partner can add sweet dimensions to our lives, we, each of us, are responsible for our own fulfillment. Nobody else can provide it for us, and to believe otherwise is to delude ourselves dangerously and to program for eventual failure every relationship we enter.” ~ Tom Robbins Catching the sunrise in Dahican Beach, Mati, Davao Oriental (with my sister as my model) Remembering Jerry Mcguire’s classic lines, “You complete me,” I honestly think otherwise, much as it sounds so romantic and cheesy.  I feel that a person has to achieve a substantial amount of self-esteem and fulfillment in order to be able to manage a healthy relationship with others.  However, a person should also be able to accept contentment with being alone and …

Reload 013: Love, Peace and Unity

RELOAD,  REFRESH, RESTART  013 –  It’s what we do in our computers. So with life, we take a break.  If all else fails, REFORMAT.  This clip has been reposted and viewed a million times over on youtube, but it still does wonders to the human heart.  And no, Love, Peace and Unity are not their names, but you can call them ambassadors of humanity.

Celebrate the differences

“A friend is one that knows you as you are, understands where you have been, accepts what you have become, and still, gently allows you to grow.”~ William Shakespeare Even if today is the special day of hearts, we also celebrate relationships with friends because love knows no limits, boundaries, gender, age and culture.  If I miss anything else, write me. Happy Love day, everyone.
