Philippine Centennial Tree

Philippine Centennial Tree in Magallanes

This Bitaog tree (Calophyllum inophyllum) in Brgy. Caloc-an, Magallanes, Agusan del Norte was officially declared the oldest tree in the country in June 1998 by the Dept. Of Tourism. The Philippine Centennial Tree measures 290 centimeters in diameter, and has its own commemorative stamp. The little town has a tourist center to accommodate visitors who want to view the 500-yr-old tourist attraction.

Reach out and make me smile! :-)
