Bruno Mars: Proud to be Filipino

The Man of Mars, celebrity performer Bruno Mars, declares himself proud to be a Filipino when he performed in a concert in Cebu a year back.  Filmed poignantly from the point of view of his family who flew in from Hawaii for a reunion after so many years, it gives you an idea of how celebrities live in a bubble with tight schedules  away from loved ones.  Still, this is a wonderful moment for all of them.

It’s More Fun in Dahican

Dahican Beach is a stunning 7-kilometer stretch of white sand facing the Pacific Ocean. Its strong winds and high waves making it ideal for wind and board surfing, and is now a popular spot for skimboarding. It is a hidden paradise in Mati City, in the province of Davao Oriental.

Reload 025: Hand in Hand (Ma Li and Zhai Xiaowei with missing limbs)

RELOAD,  REFRESH, RESTART  025 –  It’s what we do in our computers.  So with life, we take a break.  If all else fails, reformat. Sit back, relax and enjoy my favorite video reposts. 🙂 What makes you ponder right after watching this beautiful piece of art, is that you will begin to run out of excuses on why you can’t pursue your own dreams and succeed. From a CCTV Dance Contest emerged a stunning performance by two persons with disabilities, Ma Li and Zhai Xiaowei, whose loss of limbs from separate car accidents didn’t stop them from shining.  She was a promising ballerina and he was a cyclist for the national special Olympics. She invited him to be her dance partner.  He has never danced before.  The training was very tough.  In 2007  they won the Silver Medal in China’s national dance competition — out of 7,000 competitors. Find their story here or anywhere on the net. But first, watch their moving and winning performance.

Kelly and his brother, Ahmed, who has made the Australian Paralympics swimming team, were adopted from Iraq. They had been abandoned as infants, both suffering limb deficiencies as a result of chemical warfare. Both brothers were adopted by Moira Kelly, whom they love dearly. At 17, his emotional performance of John Lennon’s Imagine on The X Factor has been watched 11 million times on YouTube. However, he got cut off from the competition in the next round, amidst fan outrage and reactions. He has already recorded some songs in Hollywood, and is scheduled to have hip and several surgeries this year.  He will head back to the US to pursue possible projects, including an appearance on reality show The Glee Project. “My dream is to change the world in …

RELOAD,  REFRESH, RESTART  022 –  It’s what we do in our computers.  So with life, we take a break.  If all else fails, reformat. Sit back, relax and enjoy my favorite video reposts. 🙂 What a wonderful world when you start off each day like this. Brings a smile into your face each time. Copied off the introduction on youtube: Published on May 3, 2012 by CPHPHIL In April 2012 Copenhagen Phil (Sjællands Symfoniorkester) surprised the passengers in the Copenhagen Metro by playing Griegs Peer Gynt. The flash mob was created in collaboration with Radio Klassisk. All music was performed and recorded in the metro. Visit our website: http://copenhagenphil.dk/ and facebook: http://www.facebook.com/SjaellandsSymfoniorkester.CopenhagenPhil Produced by http://makropol.dk/ The sound:  The Copenhagen Metro is very quiet and the recording you hear is where the train is standing still. That’s why the recording you hear is so clean and crisp – and the sound is actually surprisingly good in the Copenhagen metro. We did this deliberately because we feel that a good sound experience is vital when trying to …

Reload 019: Orphan boy Uudam sings for “Mother in the Dream”

RELOAD,  REFRESH, RESTART  019 –  It’s what we do in our computers.  So with life, we take a break.  If all else fails, reformat. Sit back, relax and enjoy my favorite video reposts. 🙂 Boy: “Whenever I miss my mom, I sing this song. “ Judge: “Can you tell us where your mom is?” Boy: “Mom is in the heaven…“ Copied from two youtube posts, one is of a story (I left some grammatical errors as is) about this incredible kid who sang for his mom during an audition in China’s Got Talent, and the other was a video I had to find that has an English subtitle on it.  How he sang the song was unforgettable.  Read on… (um, do you have a hanky with you?) “A 12-year-old Mongolian boy- Uudam (Wudamu in Chinese) — who lost his parents at the age of 8 in a road accident — singing the song-“Mother in the Dream” to his mother in heaven.  He seldom talk about his story but when he miss his mother, he will …

RELOAD,  REFRESH, RESTART  013 –  It’s what we do in our computers.
