Prayer for Peace

“May every sunrise hold more promise and every sunset hold more peace.” Stop the War.

Sea of emotions

“When anxious, uneasy and bad thoughts come, I go to the sea, and the sea drowns them out with its great wide sounds, cleanses me with its noise, and imposes a rhythm upon everything in me that is bewildered and confused.” ~ Rainer Maria Rilke

Life is like a boat

“We are all rowing a boat of fate The waves keep on comin’ and we can’t escape But if we ever get lost on our way The waves would guide you through another day.” ~ Life is Like a Boat – Rie Fu

Blue

“I spent uncounted hours sitting at the bow looking at the water and the sky, studying each wave, different from the last, seeing how it caught the light, the air, the wind; watching patterns, the sweep of it all, and letting it take me.  The sea.”- Gary Paulsen, Caught by the Sea

Calm after a storm

“There is a place of perfect peace in each one of us that nothing can harm or disturb. It is waiting for you in this very moment.” ~ Christopher Foster, The Happy Seeker

Listen to the rain

“It is raining and you can hear the pattern of the drops. You can hear it with your ears, or you can hear it out of that deep silence. If you hear it with complete silence of the mind, then the beauty of it is such that cannot be put into words or onto canvas, because that beauty is something beyond self-expression.” ~ Jiddu Krishnamurti

Close to nature

“If you will stay close to nature, to its simplicity, to the small things hardly noticeable, those things can unexpectedly become great and immeasurable.” ― Rainer Maria Rilke, Letters to a Young Poet A young student is heading for school early morning from a floating village where tilapia farming is a livelihood and boats are the main transport in Lake Sebu, South Cotabato ATIONCrunchbase: ATION is a company. →

Keeping your balance

“The major work of the world is not done by geniuses. It is done by ordinary people, with balance in their lives, who have learned to work in an extraordinary manner.” ~ Gordon B. Lasting memory

“Every person passing through this life will unknowingly leave something and take something away. Most of this “something” cannot be seen or heard or numbered or scientifically detected or counted. It’s what we leave in the minds of other people and what they leave in ours. Memory. The census doesn’t count it. Nothing counts without it.” ― Robert Fulghum, All I Really Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten

Vanishing Island in Samal waters on a high tide

Touchdown on a vanishing island

I used to drop by the Vanishing Island (Salipaan Shoal) every time I was headed for Samal Island (and City). It was nothing much but a piece of white sandbar and a cottage where the owner’s caretaker lives. Young mangrove trees are lined up in the middle of the area, caught between currents where two cities sit across from each other. It was a spot we seldom take notice of.

Sea Seek

“We are tied to the ocean. And when we go back to the sea, whether it is to sail or to watch – we are going back from whence we came.” ~ John F.
