Lotus at sunrise

“Creativity is essentially a lonely art. An even lonelier struggle. To some a blessing. To others a curse. It is in reality the ability to reach inside yourself and drag forth from your very soul an idea.” ~ Lou Dorfsman

For three days, I was blessed with evenings of full moon and glorious sunrises from my cottage by the lake in Mountain Lake Eco Resort.  I was doing a photography workshop with kids as a project of Save the Children Organization in Lake Sebu, South Cotabato. During cold evenings, I stayed awake at night patiently documenting these lotuses illuminated by the full moon.  At dawn, I woke before the sky was bathed in orange glow.  I braved the chill as I captured these flowers in full bloom, stretching fragile, slender necks towards the sun, then closing its petals before noon.

Every lotus image I captured during this trip was for me an unfolding of my life blossoming to its fullness.  I am blessed with a little miracle after miracle, and I am thankful for my tiny role in this lifetime.  It makes me very happy to be able to share my blessings, my creativity… my art.

Correction: This isn’t a lotus, upon careful research, turns out it is a water lily, but I shall retain the title as it sounds romantic. 😀

The aura of this photo is mystical. I prefer the name “lotus” which sounds more mystical than “lily.”
