Cagwait’s White Beach

The small municipality of Cagwait in Surigao del Sur has a hidden paradise to boast of and a festivity to crow about. Blessed with a horseshoe-shaped cove with a long stretch of fine powdered sand and surrounded by azure colors matching sky and sea, the White Beach (or Waikiki, as the famous American aviator Charles Lindbergh called it the first time he saw it) is a tourism potential once known only to its neighboring municipalities until now.

Promise Yourself

Promise Yourself To be so strong that nothing can disturb your peace of mind. To talk health, happiness, and prosperity to every person you meet. To make all your friends feel that there is something in them To look at the sunny side of everything and make your optimism come true. The important thing is to make it meaningful: a meaningful friend – or a meaningful day.” ~ Dalai Lama Spending five straight days in the quaint town of Cagwait, Surigao del Sur was a wonderful discovery, back in 2008.  The first time I went there was in 2003 when I marveled at how white their beach was and how blue the coastal waters were.  But the best discovery was the sunrise.

In the soul of a child

“No one has yet fully realized the wealth of sympathy, kindness and generosity hidden in the soul of a child. The effort of every true education should be to unlock that treasure.” ~ Emma Goldman, author This image won in two competitions, the other one on Pbase’ Show and Tell Competition with the title, Shy.  She is just one of those children who stole my heart while I was staying in the little town of Cagwait, Surigao del Sur.
