Finding yourself

“Sometimes you find yourself in the middle of nowhere, and sometimes in the middle of nowhere you find yourself.” ~ Author unknown

In my travels, I crave for things unknown in my culture. Trying to discover other people’s way of life broadens my thinking, my horizon, and tolerance for the unfamiliar. It makes me believe that there is more to my life than living in a protected shell, and not taking risks.

In traveling alone away from the confines of my familiar world, I am humbled by the fact that I am nobody to strangers. But when I start reaching out to some people, I become somebody to those I touch lives with.

It doesn’t matter whether we meet again in the future. At some point in our lives, we made such first impressions more memorable.
