Here kitty, kitty…

“Each of us must confront our own fears, must come face to face with them. How we handle our fears will determine where we go with the rest of our lives. To experience adventure or to be limited by the fear of it.” ~ Judy Blume, author

Tiger Kingdom, Phuket, Thailand – Sept. 24, 2013

No words can describe the feeling I got face to face with these beautiful and dangerous striped felines. So I leave you with a memorable photo instead, of me inside the cage.

I really wonder if in the long run, this is a safe tourist attraction for both visitors and creatures. 😦  It is the same feeling I have with the dancing elephants.

  1. Heheh I think it just so happens I am a cat and dog lover, and having handled so many dogs, watching Nat Geo, it was easy for me to get inside the cage and believe they wouldn’t rip my head off. The trainor told us they were born domesticated and not in the wild, so apparently they also think they’re just purring big cats. They love to be stroked in the belly! But a no-no is to touch the face or front paw. They don’t want the cats to get used to licking people.

    • I was also suspecting that but I didn’t want to think they were harming the creatures. Otherwise I will not be promoting it. In the past years, I have read of reported cases of a few tourists being mauled, presumably if they awoke from that “dazed stupor”. So sad if true then. 😦
