Every year, we have this Mayor’s Appreciation Night as the Mayor’s way of recognizing and giving appreciation to particular organizations, companies and individuals who have contributed greatly towards achieving the City Government’s projects and efforts in the line of Business, Economics, and Arts and Culture.

As I went onstage to accept my plaque, this was the host’s script and introduction : “Jojie Alcantara is a journalist, writer and photographer who was a three-time Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) Gold Awards nominee. Despite her international successes, she remains loyal to Davao and Mindanao in the forefront of her tourism advocacy.”
