A small survivor

“When you do nothing, you feel overwhelmed and powerless. But when you get involved, you feel the sense of hope and accomplishment that comes from knowing you are working to make things better”. ~Pauline R. Kezer

This kid was just one of the many children I’ve come across in typical travel scenarios in Asian countries, more so in ours.  Though I hesitate to post this sad image, it is here to remind us we are not born equal in status and destiny.  Some of us are luckier than others.  We have to remember this if we feel disappointed about something so trivial.  Somewhere out there, a child is lucky to be surviving a day at a time.

When you visit an orphanage or child cancer ward sometime, think about what you can do for them for just a day.  Bring smiles to their faces, and warmth in their hearts.
