River jumpers of Baganga

“The person who risks nothing, does nothing, has nothing, is nothing, and becomes nothing. He may avoid suffering and sorrow, but he simply cannot learn and feel and change and grow and love and live.” ~ Leo F. Buscaglia  (American guru, tireless advocate of the power of love, 1924-1998)

These are the young “risk takers” of Baganga, Davao Oriental. They climb on top of a high bridge railing, and recklessly jump into the river below easily like fish to water.  Not quite a safe past time, but fun to watch.  I was able to join them under the railings and ask them all to jump in unison after a while.
